What's next?

What's next?

As soon as the semester ends, I will gather my books and give them to whom ever needs them.
I will also pack my stuff, and pick my travelling ticket. I will try to go to somewhere I never visited in U.S. I am thinking of D.C., or Portland, Oregon. I am planning on doing things I never did such as Rafting or Sky diving.

I will try to visit my sister in law in Michigan. I will try to see the area there as I heard it is beautiful in summer. I will see her children; I did not see them from along time. After that I will try to visit Chicago before I come back to Long Beach. I hope that I can do all of these things in the two weeks vacation because I believe it will be too short vacation.

Nature

Eldorado Park

I love nature, and I like to watch trees, flowers, roses, grass, and the cute little animals. In general I like the outdoors. One day, with my family, we went to Eldorado Park in Long Beach. It is a beautiful park because there are lakes, different kinds of birds, many people walking their dogs, and some activities such as kayak. Also the weather was amazing, and it was the perfect day to go and to do barbecue.

As always, in the beginning we drink Arabian coffee with dates and others sweet snacks. After that we drink tea mixed with mint. We also prepared our lunch there as we grilled some chicken and beef. Some of us tried the kayak, and others played soccer. We loved the fresh air and the fun we had.

I learned that happiness can be achieved with small things. It took only a beautiful place, few things brought from home, and the people I love the most for me to be happy. When I watch the natural scenes, I feel relax especially with sounds of birds. I go to nature to find relaxation.

The Most Important Person

My Mother

I can not think of someone more important to me than my mother, especially when I was a child. She was the only one who raised me and took care of me. Her hugs are the only things that makes me feel safe and truly loved. Her support is the only thing that kept me going. She always put me as her first priority, and she always protected me from any danger. She always taught me that I should never give up and try many times to make what I wish.

I remember when I was in school, she was the only one who kisses her daughter, and I am proud of her. Also, when anyone tries to hurt me, she defends me. I remember also she made me start in school early because I wanted to go to school when I was 5 years. When I get sad she is the only one who makes me happy. I remember when my brother was born, she used to give him candies to give it to me, so I do not feel jealous of him.

I can not imagine how would my life be if I had a different mother. I owe her everything I have achieved. I love her so much, and I know that she loves me too. I always pray that Allah makes her life longer, healthier, and happier. May Allah bless her and her heart too.

A Scary Experience

A Scary Experience

I remember the day I felt so scared, and it was when I was 12 years old. I went to the desert in my country with my whole family, and I was excited. In the desert there are a lot of activities that we can do such as horse riding, camping, and riding motorcycle. We rented a motorcycle for each one of us. It was almost near the sunset, and it was getting dark. I rode a red motorcycle, and I drove it very fast. I went uphill with the motorcycle, and it was very funny.

In the beginning I was laughing and smiling. I rode the bike and drove it fast with every turn. I loved the feeling that I got from the excitement. With that excitement I drove fast and took a sharp turn. I remember that everything happened in slow motion. The motorcycle flipped and I was on the ground. I remember other motorcycles passing next to me and almost running me over. When I hit the ground, I looked at the bike, and I saw it flipping and flipping. It was going to fall on me. I remember my mom screaming and my sister's shocked look. I was just waiting for the bike to fall on me and crush my bones. Suddenly, the bike stopped flipping and stood on the back wheels like if it was held by someone. At that moment, I was looking at the bike in shock until it flipped on the other said. When I realised that Allah saved me, I cried and screamed.

I learned from that experience to be careful, and I did not ride another motorcycle until I got over that fear. It took me five years to get over that fear, but the important thing is that I did it. I had never been scared of the motorcycle before, but now when I ride motorcycle, I drive carefully and enjoy.

A Poison Tree - William Blake

A Poison Tree
William Blake

http://allpoetry.com/poem/8438021-A-Poison-Tree-by-William-Blake

In the poem "A Poison Tree", William Blake Describes his angry and revenge of his enemy as a tree that he kept feeding with his fears and tears. Also, he has to pretend to smile to his enemy and to be wise with his revenge. His revenge was to make his enemy thinks that he managed to defeat Blake. Then, Blake gets his revenge by killing his enemy in his poem.
In my opinion, I like this poem because some people feel like that with their enemy.
I think this feeling must be controlled to avoid ugly ends. As human beings, we like the dark and twisted ways, but we must remember that forgiveness is something bigger and better. Also, if anyone hates anyone, he will burn only himself with anger.
I learned new vocabularies from this poem such as"wrath", and it means angry. Also, I learned "foe", and it means revenge. I took from this poem wisdom which is I will never do revenge from my enemy, and I recommend you and myself to forgive.

My Dream Job

My Dream Job

Everyone in this life has dream job, and I am one of them. My dream job is to be a designer. I like to know more about different types of fabrics, and I like to combine colors. I like to design clothes especially dresses. I will be proud of myself if I make my own clothes. Also I will wear something unique, and no body will be wearing like me.

Sometimes when I want to buy a dress, I do not find what I want. Some clothes does not fit my culture and upbringing. Because of that I can not wear them. Also most of the clothes I saw does not interest me, and in the end I make my own design and take it to a tailor. I hope in the future I can become big and famous designer. Also, I hope that I can open my own store. I will not make normal dresses, but I will make unique dresses.

Rethinking Juvenile Justice

       Rethinking Juvenile Justice

According to the Upfront article “ Rethinking Juvenile Justice” (Schwartz,2013), the author says at teen committed a mistake and got locked up in an adult prison. After that he hanged him self. Many stories like this one nave happened and are still happing to teen, but ninety percent of minors criminals do not become adult culprits. Many stats are changing their laws to keep minors out of jail. However, some critics think that it’s fair to the victims' families to deal with teens as adult (Schwartz).

my opinion is that I disagree with putting teens in adult's prison because their brain still growing. The teens are weaker than the adult criminals who could take the advantage on them or corrupt them. I know if they committed a crime, they must be punished, but they should be punished in a separate prison for their own safety.

I learned a lot of vocabulary from this article such as "Juvenile" which means teens. Also, I learned the meaning of the word "committed" which means did something but in a negative way. Also, I learned about the American law system and people's different opinions about it.
